Each Starpanel contains approximately 20 stars of varying intensity,
just as you would expect in a night sky. The overall density of stars
on each panel was designed in consultation with an astronomical
observatory to ensure that it is consistent with a clear Australian sky
at a dark locale. Although the ceiling is composed of a mosaic of
interlocking Starpanels, repeating patterns are avoided in the
sky@night system. A range of labelled, different panel types is shipped
with each order. Each such “class” of Starpanel has a unique
pseudo-random pattern. When installed together, pattern repetition
between adjacent panels cannot occur adding to the overall realism of
the effect.
Each installed panel is capable of either connecting directly to the 'plug-pack' power supply or connecting to a power output from an adjacent, powered panel making for a simple "plug in and go" power connection.
